Mr. Steel has represented defendants in death penalty prosecutions and was even successful in having an entire death penalty prosecution dismissed when he proved his client’s innocence.

Colette Resnik Steel has practiced criminal defense and civil litigation both in the state and federal courts for 19 years. She has defended people accused of white collar, violent and drug crimes, and has obtained acquittals for clients at every level of the courts. From domestic violence matters in the state courts to RICO, drug defense and fraud cases in the federal courts, Mrs. Steel approaches each case with vigor. Mrs. Steel passionately and compassionately advocates for the best interests of her clients, developing creative, well researched and detailed arguments.

With the goal of providing a comprehensive defense for a client, Mrs. Steel also handles civil cases, many of which relate to her clients’ pending or former criminal charges. She handles plaintiff’s personal injury/wrongful death cases, defense of civil law suits and representation of lawyers and doctors on professional disciplinary matters.

Mrs. Steel is a Life Member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) and was a multi-term member of the Amicus Curaie Committee of GACDL.
